Pippa Blackburn
Pippa’s
qualifications include BA Social Work, Post Grad Cert in Grief and Palliative
Counselling, Ass Dip in Health Science (Nursing). Pippa has worked in the
areas of child protection, forensic social work, child witnesses, indigenous
wellbeing, mental health, counselling, aged care, oncology and palliative care.
Pippa has provided psycho-educational and therapeutic group programmes to
clients for a range of issues and has also provided education and training to
volunteers, nursing and allied health in the fields of loss, grief, bereavement
and spirituality. Pippa has provided training and seminars on behalf
of the Cancer Council of WA, Leukaemia Foundation and the Breast Cancer Network
Australia. Pippa is currently employed as the senior social worker in the
Regional Palliative Care Team for WA Country Health Service (WACHS) South West.
Vera Hughes
Vera has a BA Social Work, Post
Grad Cert in Loss, Grief and Trauma Counselling, Advanced Cert in Hypnotherapy
and a Dip Community Nursing (NZ). Vera has extensive experience working in
health and mental health, counselling, migrants, trauma (domestic violence,
sexual assault/abuse), grief, loss and bereavement. Vera has experience in
conducting psycho-educational and therapeutic group programmes, education and
consultancy to professionals and school communities, programme development and
service delivery as well as management. Vera is currently employed as
a Student Specialist Support Officer at Edith Cowan University, South West
campus and runs a private practice.
